“Keelyn is incredible, I cannot even begin to describe it, I wanted to do a shoot to tell my story of sexual abuse as a child that formed into my PTSD as an adult. She took a memory + an experience, that was so tragic, painful, disgusting, heartbreaking and sad to me and turned all of those emotions I feel into a piece of artwork. I can now take these horrible moments in my life and find something beautiful in them. Through this process of telling my story and coming to terms with having PTSD and learning how to manage it; I wanted this session to show my growth from these moments as well as use this as a therapy session to really get out how I’ve always felt on the inside. To release these emotions and not look at them in such a negative light and turn them into something beautiful gives me a whole new outlook into each of these feelings. That even in our worst nightmares we can find something beautiful from it to pull from.
